1–2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (e.g. Slap Ya Mama)
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 shallot, finely chopped (optional)
Juice of ½ lemon
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Air-Fried Cajun Asparagus
1 bunch asparagus, ends trimmed
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
Pinch of salt & pepper
Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Directions
Cube & season the salmon.
Remove skin and slice into 1″ strips, then cut into 1″ cubes.
In a bowl, toss salmon with Cajun seasoning until each piece is coated.
Air-fry the salmon.
Preheat air fryer to 400 °F.
Arrange salmon in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
Air-fry 5–6 minutes, until edges are lightly charred and centers are just opaque.
Remove and set aside.
Air-fry the asparagus. (can do while salmon cooks)
Toss asparagus with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Place in air fryer basket in a single layer.
Air-fry at 400 °F for 7–8 minutes, shaking halfway, until tender-crisp and lightly charred.
Make the Cajun-butter sauce.
Warm a skillet over medium heat. Sauté shallot until translucent (1–2 min).
Add butter; once melted, stir in a pinch more Cajun seasoning, lemon juice, and black pepper.
Remove from heat.
Combine & serve.
Gently toss salmon cubes in the skillet until well coated in the sauce.
Plate salmon bites alongside (or on top of) the Cajun asparagus.
Garnish with extra lemon wedges and a crack of black pepper.
